Emmanuel... God with us!

So it seems I've been caught up in this Christmas whirlwind along with everyone else. I've been so busy I barely have time to eat (which I seem to want to do all the time these days), yet alone blog. But things are slowing down. I've bought my last gift, & I've only got a couple more to wrap.

I'm actually able focus on the real reason behind all this hustle bustle.

Jesus

And the fact that He came to this stinky smelly earth (as the kids in my Christmas program so eloquently put it) For us!

For Me!

Now that's a reason to celebrate!

This & That..

So this is our tree. I found this tree in the attic when we moved here, and figured I might as well give it a try. It was in horrible shape, most of the branches were broken off and limply hanging there. So I armed myself with wire and tape and a lot of patience. Many hours later, after lots of piecing and rigging this is the finished result. It may not be perfect, but since my two favorite guys helped me decorate it, it's perfect enough for me!

If you were to visit our house on any given day, this is what you might find. Keegan found this bowl in my tupperware cabinet and was just tickled to find that it fit perfectly on his head. So now I periodically find him running around for long periods of time with his "red hat". Oh well, at least he has his own sense of style, right?

Keegan is just thrilled that he found this great new product for his hair... a.k.a - mashed potatoes!

I'm a little behind on this one... but anyway, this is Chip's family at Thanksgiving. Bennett proposed to the lovely Jennifer just two days after this picture... I couldn't be happier about this. I'm just SO excited about this wedding!

A Good Day

I had an ultrasound today. Everything went great! She found a heartbeat, which was a huge relief to me (once you can detect a heartbeat your chance of a miscarriage go down by a lot). Anyway, I'm only ten weeks along and I already look like I swallowed a miniature basketball, not sure what's going on with that. So today's been a good day, I'm actually allowing myself to get excited about this new little person.

Confessions...

- I have blogger background ADD... I can't stick with one for very long.... I just cant!

- Due to feeling very crummy as of late, I have put my child in front of Boz & Barney more than I
ever have.... just horrible!

- I'm finding myself getting horribly addicted to facebook.... not that I'm on all day or anything, I
just have this overwhelming urge to just check it periodically.... what's with that?

- I only have two Christmas presents bought... and I have no desire to buy more. No desire to
shop! What is wrong with me!?!

- I've been waiting until the last possible second to start dinner lately.... after all, maybe this is
the day Chip will suggest we eat out........ how's that for lazy.

Go Hawks!

So most of you know what a huge Iowa football fan Chip is, but since we don't really live close to Iowa, he really doesn't get to go to any games. Well, he determined that it was high time for Keegan and I to attend our first hawkeye game, and since they were going to be playing IU, we decided it was the perfect time to go. I have to admit, I didn't know how much fun I was going to have (I'm not the big football fan that Chip is). Surprisingly enough, I had a blast! I totally got into the game!
We sat right by the Iowa section. High fives were all around!

My two favorite Hawkeyes

Keegan and I decked out in our Hawkeye apparel.

The final score... We pretty much crushed them.

The team coming over to the stands after their big win.... very exciting! Chip might've converted me into a die-hard Hawk fan..... well... probably not :)

Vacation

We started out in Michigan, then headed down to West Virginia. It was great to see family, but after about 12 days of fun and travel, I'm truly worn out.

Keegan looks a little confused, like he knows that something is just not quite right, he's just not sure what...... such a stinker :)
Keegan and Pappaw are quite the playmates.

Keegan was just absolutely tickled to be eating at Logan's. Can you blame him?

Keegan with Grammy and Pappaw. He picked right up with them like we had never left!

Chip and I celebrated our 5 year anniverserary by letting my parents watch Keegan for a couple of days and heading for the mountains. It was beautiful! It was nice to be able to spend some uninterupted time with my best friend! It's just amazing how much I love this guy!

What could be more fun than jumping on the bed at Mamaw and Pappaw's house!

My sister's little boy, Luke.. the way he is ALL the time! This is by far the happiest little boy I've ever encountered.

I met my cousin's new baby, Caden Thomas for the first time. He was just a doll!
Keegan and Lydia (my sister's oldest)
with the "Old Navy dog". Does anybody else's kids love this thing?

My family... There is actually a very funny story behind this picture. We had just finished eating and decided to get a picture all together outside the restaurant. We took a couple of pictures, and then talked for a bit. Then we all filed into our separate cars and headed home. When we were almost home, Kyle (my brother) called and was quite frustrated.... He was still at the restaurant! If you look at the picture, Kyle is not in it! We had taken two pictures, then stood and around and chatted for a while, and nobody noticed Kyle was no where around. We all felt a tad bit sheepish when Kyle finally got home.

King's Island

So, we got a little group together from our church and took off for a day of fun at King's Island. As you can , tell, by the time this picture was taken, Keegan had just about had enough "fun". The weather was great, and the lines weren't "too long".

We went to a Dora the Explorer sing-a-long, Keegan has no idea who Dora is, but he enjoyed it anyway.

Me & my Keegeroos enjoying the show

We rode through Scooby Doo's Haunted House. They had these laser guns you could use to shoot all the scary stuff. As you can see, Chip took this task very seriously. Keegan on the other hand, wasn't impressed :).

Chip made sure the world was safe from ghost, goblins and skeletons.

We waited in a line full of frustrated toddlers for an hour to ride this "awplin"! I couldn't really see what the big deal was, but there must've been one, 'cause Keegan loved it! If you look really close you can see the two us

Keegan was absolutely mesmerized by the log ride.

Chip has a mouth full of sunflower seeds, hence the puckered chipmunk look :)

Slides and Choo-Choo Trains

Don't you just love that face! He had a blast, apart from a horrible train experience. We heard a train coming and since Keegan had never seen a train before we took off running so we could stand by the tracks and watch it go by. All was well until the whistle blew. Let's just say I think Keegan is going to have a fear of trains for the rest of his life.

I told him to "drive the car for the picture. As you can tell, I only got a half-hearted response.
Our happy little fam

Me & My Guy; hard to believe we've been married for five years in a couple of weeks. It really has been the best five years of my life!

A Day Outside With Keegeroos and Lexi Lou

Keegan and Lexi, they really are the best of buddies. No one can make Keegan laugh quite like Lexi can. Much of thier time together is spent with Keegan chasing Lexi crying because Lexi has discovered one of his toys, but he's always quick to forgive.

They love to jump on top each other, they usually get in trouble for this, but this time I allowed it long enough to snap a picture.

Lexi Lou: She's a sweet girl trapped inside a hyper mess of a body!

I'm still working on getting him to "cheese" for the camera. It's a work in progress :)

Me & My Lexi Lou, we have sort of a love/hate kind of relationship. But I've got to admit, I've really grown to love the girl.

Funny!

My ONE attempt at a picture of all three of us!

I have been hit with an urge to blog several times since my last post (which was forever ago). My problem is I have somehow misplaced my battery charger for my camera, and since my camera is deader than a doornail there is no hope. I am off today to price a new one, so hopefully I will be in full swing soon.

Purple skin, and pink hair!

I have always heard all these mother's talk about all of these horrible things that their kids got into, and have always sort of prided myself that Keegan has never really gotten into anything too bad. Well, I can now say that the phrase "pride cometh before the fall" is very true!

Keegan figured out how to get the lid off of the black Wilton icing coloring that I accidentally knocked out of my cupboard without knowing it. By the time I realized that this terrible thing was happening, he had dumped the whole bottle on the floor, rubbed it all in his hair, all over his legs and feet, and all over his high chair. I suceeded in cleaning up the mess everywhere, but Keegan had purplish skin, and pink hair for a few days.
I gotta say though, the punk rocker look did kind of grow on me!

I think it's about time to blog!

I know, I know! It has been forever since I've blogged. It's been very, very busy! Well, I'll get to what everyone is really interested in, the Pictures!
We took Keegan to his very first Cardinal's game. To my surprise, Keegan loved it! He sat through the whole thing, and even watched some of it!

Gotta love that cotton candy!

We took Keegan to the cincinatti zoo. He just loved the "kitties"

The next time we go to the zoo, we'll pick a cooler day. Most of the animals were hiding in the shade. Keegan really enjoyed pointing out all of the trees though! lol

I'm still not really sure if I enjoyed the whole "bird on the shoulder" experience.

Keegan got to spend time with his cousin Lydia in West Virginia.
As you can see, Keegan not quite as affectionate with her as she is with him.

My beatiful little sister, Aubrey, graduated from high school!
Congrats, sis! I love you a ton!
